Helene Cronin and Scott Sean White

Helene Cronin is a 2018 winner of the Kerrville Folk Festival's "New Folk Competition". One reviewer calls her music "inexplicably fierce...while remaining remarkably tender and accessible." Others call her raw, honest, vulnerable, and often say, "your songs make me think". Audiences are drawn in by her intimate, personal performances. Helene's musical style draws from elements of both Americana/Folk and Country, but she is best described as an acoustic storyteller. While she is often compared to Lori McKenna, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Nanci Griffith, and other female artists who populate roots music, her sound is uniquely her own.
Helene is hard at work on a full length record slated for release in mid-2019. She has released 2 EPs, "Belong to the River" in 2015 and "Restless Heart" in 2014. Her music can be ordered from the STORE page. It is also available on digital sites including CDBaby: http://www.cdbaby.com/Artist/HeleneCronin and iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/helene-cronin/id256861996.
Her most well-known work is the song "Lucky Me", which she wrote after talking with a soldier in the Nashville airport. When it became apparent how the song impacted those who heard it, a video was created and posted to YouTube. The power of the video led to an appearance on the Mike Huckabee Show in front of a national audience. She has performed "Lucky Me" for military events, for American Airlines veterans Initiatives programs, the Veterans Housing Crisis Center of Dallas, the USO, the Denver Broncos and the Houston Texans. A highlight was the opportunity to perform the song for the 150th anniversary of the creation of the Medal Of Honor (by Abraham Lincoln) in front of an audience of 15,000 including 65 Medal of Honor recipients, receiving a standing ovation. Helene plays "Lucky Me" often, to say thank you to our veterans, current service members and their families.
Helene hosts shows at Nashville's Bluebird Cafe and performs in the Dallas area at Uncle Calvin's Coffeehouse, Poor David's Pub, Love and War in Plano, and Opening Bell Coffee. She is currently working on touring more often through Texas to expand her audience. Her latest interest has been booking house concerts around the country because of the built-in potential of a living room or backyard to promote a meaningful listening experience! Contact Helene for more information. See EVENTS & SHOWS page for info on her gigs.
Connecting with people through the emotion of music, expressing truth, finding grace in the chaos of life, these are the things that motivate Helene to continue writing and releasing new songs.
"It's a good life if you can get it!"
I am a follower of Jesus. A flawed man in love with Jesus - constantly struggling with trying to represent my gracious, amazing Lord and Savior better. I fail often but am constantly aware and so thankful that His grace is sufficient and that His work in me is always ongoing. And confident in the promise that He WILL complete it. I am a husband to a wife I don't deserve and though I was not wise enough to know that she was perfect for me and this music life I would choose… God was. And in one of those things that God does that I simply can’t wrap my head around - He took our wrong choices, and turned it into a life with “rooms filled with rare and beautiful treasures.” Only He can do that. I am a father to two incredible young ladies who make me proud in every way - especially all the important ways. The way they live, the way they love and pursue Jesus, the way they love people, how they carry themselves and are out there changing the world one student-athlete at a time as they coach and teach. I am a musician who often says “It’s a good life if you can get it” out here doing what I love for a living for most of my adult life. I am a songwriter. And apparently - a book writer - haha! I am also the brother of Joey and had the blessing of being his caregiver for most of my adult life - and he may very well be the best part of this whole story. I miss him so so much… but I WILL see him again - thank you Jesus 🙂
Now - as for what folks usually call a "BIO..."
Scott Sean White is a songwriter born and raised in Texas. He splits his time between Nashville and his home in Poetry, TX - commuting back and forth once or twice a month to Nashville to write, record, and perform. He was signed to a publishing deal by Liz Morin at Jim Scott's Encore Entertainment in Nashville and then they went out of business in 2008. He has had hip-hop and R&B songs in major motion pictures like THE HOT CHICK with Rob Schneider and TWO FOR THE MONEY with Matthew Mcconaughey and Al Pacino - as well as several TV shows and TV movies on almost every major cable network - AND even some video games. He is currently a staff writer for Steve Bloch in Nashville. His true heart though - is in country music. The lyrics and the stories and the real life. His own story of growing up in a crazy dysfunctional childhood in Kerrville, TX, shows up often in his songs and shows - as does his wife of 28 years and his kids, family, and faith.
